Day Thirty-Nine

Luke 22:44

He prayed more fervently, and he was in such agony of spirit that his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood.

The choice to be planted is not the end of the journey, it’s just the beginning. We’ve discussed what it means to be planted, and the power of the soil, but how do we enrich the soil we are planted in?

Jesus displays the ultimate example in this moment in the garden before He is set to be crucified. Sweating drops of blood that fall on the soil of the ground. That blood represents the choice to die to Himself, to die to His will, His preference, His desires.

Luke 22:42

Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.

When a seed is planted in the ground, it has to die before it can bring new life. My question for you today, is what is it that has to die before you see fruitfulness in your life? Every time something dies, it enriches the soil. Every time you lay down your own desires for God’s desire in your life, not only does it bring you new life, but it enriches the atmosphere you are in to help produce life all around you. So that every time you say “not my will, but Your’s Lord” your relationships have to get stronger, your workplace has to get stronger, your school has to get stronger.

I believe with all of my heart that 2020 is going to be the year of Great Strength in Your life, but in order for anything to grow, it has to be intentionally enriched.

Blessings,
