Day Thirty-Four: Why ALL the Secrets?

Andy Smith   -

10When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables. 11He told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables 12so that, “‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!'” (Mark 4:10-12)

There is something so honoring about being considered worthy of keeping a secret. Think about it! Someone has weighed and measured you to be of great worth possessing the impeccable character required to be trusted with vulnerable information. Have I mentioned that at one point in time in my life, I wanted to be a spy? Well, I thought I did. It turns out that spies are continually being hunted for the information they contain. The data they hold would most definitely destroy their enemy’s plans.

Jesus tells His followers that they contain secrets that will destroy Satan’s plans and that He refuses to share it with anyone who does not come through Jesus to get it. Why? Because God’s Kingdom secrets are full of unstoppable power. So, if you know, you are unstoppable. You can’t lose, be beaten, be eliminated, or destroyed. Therefore, God chooses to reveal them personally and in code. How do you decipher the code? Well, you have to have the “Key” … Holy Spirit’s revelation of truth.

Without the key, you and I cannot understand that which God wants us to know. How cool is it that God, Himself, reserves the right to be our teacher. So, Jesus says if you don’t have the key, you will never unlock the door to the secrets I want to entrust to you. Today, if you are struggling to find solutions or answers, stop and ask Holy Spirit for His revelation.

Blessings,
