DAY TWO

Jane Evans   -

Your response to pressure. Yesterday we learned that God declared his love for his son before he fasted and prayed. Fasting and prayer was not a method to get his father’s approval but a response to it!

The verses we read yesterday Matthew 4:1-11 say, Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tested by the devil, and he CHOSE to fast and pray! Thousands of years before, God’s chosen people, The Israelites, were led into the wilderness by God and were tested too!

Deuteronomy 8:2 (NKJV) And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.

They chose to respond to their wilderness experience by whining and complaining!

There are so many things right now in the world that are testing our faith, testing our ability to trust God, testing our love for each other. It doesn’t matter who is the author of your test it only matters how you respond! A test is to see what you know, or have learned, to see what you can remember, what has been previously put into you. And whether you pass or fail depends on what you choose to do in response to your test.

WELL DONE! If you are reading this, you have chosen to do what Jesus did. To fast, to tackle the pressure with supernatural solutions. I’m so excited as we go on this journey together because I know that miracles are going to happen. There’s a turn around coming for you, and the power to live an overcoming life is within your reach!
