Day Twenty-Six

Jane Evans   -

Today I want to remind us of the reasons God is asking us to be bold and courageous.

The first is because God has made us a promise. God has promised us an inheritance, a Promised Land and our possession of it depends on us being bold and courageous. His promise is a partnership with us and for Him to be able to fulfill His promise in our lives. He needs us to partner with Him in bold faith and action.

Joshua 1:3

I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.

The second is because there are people in your life that depend on it.

Joshua 1:6

Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.

It doesn’t matter if you feel like no-one is looking to you for leadership, the truth is that people are. Even people you may not know personally are watching you, and your boldness and courage inspires them. When you set foot on your Promised Land they will not be far behind!

The third is, be strong and courageous for your own sake

Joshua 1:7

“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go”

God wants you to be successful, He wants you to possess the inheritance He has given you, He wants you to prosper and be successful all the days of your life, wherever you go.

The fourth reason to be bold and courageous is for the ‘Naysayers’ sake

We have all had people in our lives that have doubted what God has said to us, criticized us, and tried to block our efforts to move forward. By being bold and courageous we silence their voice and ‘put to death’ its effect on us.

Joshua 1:18

“Whoever rebels against your word and does not obey it, whatever you may command them, will be put to death. Only be strong and courageous!”

Maybe you need to remind yourself about one of the reasons above and ask God to refocus your motivation today to take bold action in faith?

Blessings,

Jane Evans
